Our Story
Hello, we are the Poindexter family and owners of Simpler Thymes farmstead. I am Shawna and my husband Craig and I are born and raised “okies.” We have been married since 2004 and make a pretty awesome team. (He goes along with all my wild ideas, projects, and animal requests and just says “why not”) We are raising our 4 kids on our 3 acre micro farm in Bixby, OK.
We were both raised in the country and shortly after our last child was born we found the property to call our forever home. We love this little piece of dirt and couldn’t imagine our lives any other way. It has undergone many changes since we bought it but what has remained a constant is our garden, our chickens, and our bees.
When 2019 rolled around like most, my world was rocked but since then God has used the past few years to show me that the most beautiful parts of life are the simple times.
My hope for Simpler Thymes Farmstead is to use what we have to build community and bring joy to others whether that is through a small flower bouquet or some some raw local honey.
